Tabitha

Owner and Laboratory Director

Tabitha has been an Organic Chemist for 23 years, working with drinking water most of her career, and has extensive instrumentation experience utilizing GC, GCMS, LC-MSMS, ICP and HPLC. Tabitha has comprehensive experience with method development, having participated in UCMR studies developing methods and implementing analysis for unregulated compounds and possible contaminates in drinking water. As an Organic Chemist, Tabitha has years of experience of using regulated methods, as well as maintaining overall compliance with various regulatory agencies.

Tabitha has been in the cannabis industry since 2014 when she opened the longest standing cannabis testing laboratory in Arizona, Desert Valley Testing. She found a need for testing when she was diagnosed with a rare eye disease, ICE Syndrome, and needed to find an alternative natural medicine for her ailments. In 2019, Tabitha was elected to be the representative for cannabis testing laboratories in Arizona on the Medical Marijuana Testing Advisory Council, along with 11 other members representing the cannabis community, where she assists with making recommendations to the Department of Health Services on establishing testing requirements. She continues to be involved in recommending changes to rules and regulations within the cannabis industry.

Erin

Technical Laboratory Director

Joined: 2019

Erin has been an analytical chemist for over 13 years. Her laboratory experience began in the highly regulated field of pharmaceuticals. During this time, she learned the importance of regulation compliance and good laboratory practices. Instrument experience includes HPLC, GCMS and LC MS/MS. She served as a microbiologist in the nutraceutical industry in Washington State.


While in Washington she fell into the wonderful world of cannabis by managing a recreational marijuana processing facility. Her role at DVT allows her to combine her cannabis knowledge with good lab practices to bring the best quality data to our customers. Erin lives in Phoenix with her adoring husband and daughter.

Sachia

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Joined: 2017

Sachia graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Biological Sciences. She has had the unique opportunity to be with Desert Valley Testing before testing was required for cannabis in Arizona. Starting out as a laboratory technician, Sachia has worked her way through many positions within the company allowing her to gain valuable first-hand experience in all areas of laboratory operations. Her prior experience working in regulated industries has given her a unique perspective on the challenges faced in compliance testing with cannabis. These same challenges drive Sachia to continue researching industry innovations in technology and science and applying them to Desert Valley Testing. Sachia is excited to be involved in the growth and development of the cannabis industry and to be working for a laboratory that provides accurate, repeatable, and reliable test results to its clients.

Lindsey

QA Specialist

Joined: 2020

Lindsey graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minor in Mathematics. She previously worked for a gummy vitamin QC lab, where she developed a passion for quality control and safe consumable products.

She started her journey with DVT as a Laboratory Technician, where she learned cannabis preparation and extraction methods. She transitioned to Analyst I and honed her analytical chemistry skills, using instrumentation throughout the lab and performing data analysis/review. She recently moved into the Quality Assurance Department to provide assistance to DVT’s Compliance Officer. Lindsey is dedicated to ensuring that DVT is in compliance for all aspects of laboratory testing. Lindsey frequently performs internal audits for DVT's chemical and microbiological methods and provides monthly QA trainings to keep DVT employees informed. She really enjoys being part of a workplace where she can combine her love of science with her support for the cannabis industry.

Outside of work, Lindsey can usually be found cuddling up with her dog, Pippin. She enjoys being in the great outdoors hiking and camping. You may also find her reading up on recent space science discoveries or using her scientific mind to create new recipes.

Cassidy

Marketing Coordinator

Joined: 2020

Cassidy brings 10 years of customer service experience to our DVT team. She is a NCAA National Cheerleading Champion and prides herself in being the team cheerleader at DVT! She is also a freelance photographer and has spent 6 years focused on portrait and product photography, which she also provides to DVT's website and social media. Cassidy is the definition of a self-starter, because of her perseverance to learn everything under the moon. Any questions you may have, she will find a solution or answer to your problem. She enjoys helping clients navigate testing methods and concerns, all with a smile!

Cassidy is BIG on community and feels it is the most important part of society or any industry. You can frequently find her at MITA, Blunt Brunch, Errl Cup, and other local cannabis events! She also provides budtender education, to help budtenders provide educated decisions to patients. Say hello if you see her around the valley!

In her free time, she helps plan yoga events for charity, feeding the unhoused, and working directly with the Phoenix Art Community. She enjoys being in nature and helping others learn ways to be sustainable. Above all else, the most important part of her life is her German Shepherd, Moose. She is beyond excited to work for DVT to help bring more education, awareness, and trusted results to the cannabis industry.

Matthew

Analyst II

Joined: 2019

Matthew graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2019 with a BS in chemistry.
He takes pride in working for a small business that provides an essential service to its clients for the benefit of the consumer. He started as a lab technician at DVT and is continuously eager to learn and improve. During his two years as an analyst, he has gained experience in the operation of HPLC, GCMS, ICPMS, and LCMS instrumentation. He has also been trained in PCR analysis of microbial contaminants.

Kevin

Chemist

Joined: 2020

Kevin attended Northern Arizona University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry with an emphasis in Forensics. After graduating from NAU, Kevin worked as a Forensic Chemist for the Maricopa County Medical Examiner for 5 years where he developed his skills in operating GC-FID, GC-MS, and LC-MS/MS. He is eager to expand his knowledge of the cannabis industry while also learning new instrumentation and testing methods. Kevin is excited to join the DVT team and to provide reliable, quality testing for their clients.

Shannon

Analyst I

Joined: 2021

Shannon graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a Secondary Education certificate. Her drive and strong work ethic is evident by her graduating summa cum laude and as a Barrett Honors Program Student. Beginning her journey at DVT a year ago as a laboratory technician, Shannon now works as an analyst. Her passion for learning and being a proficient scientist within the cannabis field makes her grateful to be a part of the DVT team! Outside of work, Shannon loves spending time with family, friends, and her two Great Dane puppies. You’ll likely find her out adventuring, at the gym, watching Netflix, or picking up puppuccino’s with her pups!

Austin

Microbial Manager

Joined: 2022

Austin received a BS in Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Kansas and a MS in Neuroscience from the University of Arizona. While at Kansas, Austin worked in multiple research laboratories, including social psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and medicinal chemistry. While in graduate school Austin worked in a neuropharmacology lab focused on pain, opioids, addiction, and cannabinoids. Austin has experience working as the Director of Science for a startup CBD company as well as managing a cannabis extraction lab, but decided to get back into the cannabis science and analytical lab arena with a high quality and ethical cannabis testing lab at DVT.

Olivia

Microbial Technician

Joined: 2022

Olivia is on her way to earning her B.S. in Biochemistry at Arizona State University, and hopes to continue her education even further. She has over 5 years of Dispensary experience and 3 years of environmental laboratory experience. Excited to combine the two, She hopes to ensure that Arizona’s patients are getting the highest quality of medicine. She enjoys kayaking, hockey and playing with her dogs. She is excited to be a part of the Desert Valley team!
